International Zhautykov Olympiad

International Zhautykov Olympiad for school students in Mathematics and Physics takes place annually in January in Zhautykov Republican Specialized Physics-Mathematics Secondary Boarding School in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The Olympiad is a collaborative project of The Republican Scientific-Practical Centre “Daryn” and Zhaytykov Republican Specialized Physics-Mathematics Secondary Boarding School for gifted students together with the leading universities of the Respublic and the Akimate of the City of Almaty.

The International ZhautykovOlympiad (International Zhautykov Olympiad) welcomes secondary school teams to compete in Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics (Informatics debuted in 2009). Each team comprises seven students (contestants); a student competes individually in only one subject. The official languages of the Olympiad are Kazakh, Russian and English. Students of several schools from one country can take part in the contest.

Medals are allocated individually, anda weighted sum formula yields the total team score.
