Department of Belarusian Language and Literature

The temple of " The Belarusian Word" appeared 20 years ago with Lera Nikitovna Rubashnaya and Nina Mikhailovna Reut. With the arrival of Anna Feodorovna Sharapova, Nikolay Valeryanovich Knish, Zenaida Antonovny Yaromki began life of the Belarusian language and literature. Nikolay Valeryanovich Knish became the first Head of the Belarusian Department.

In different years the department was headed by G.F. Sharapova, S.A. Vazhnik, V.V. Kushnerevich.

Within twenty years at the department worked fruitfully: Olga Proskalovich (now Ph.D., assistant professor of rhetoric and methods of teaching language and literature of the philological faculty of BSU),Vladimir Ivanovich Kulikovich (now candidate of philological sciences, associate professor of publishing technologies BGTU, chief editor of the magazine"Rodnae Slova"),Irina Savitskaya, Ph.D., assistant professor of Modern Belarusian language, Mikita Suprunchuk V., Ph.D., Lecturer of Department of Slavic linguistics and theoretical philological faculty of BSU.

Today, the department has representatives of four generations:

Furs Olga (Lyceum graduate 1999), Candidate of Philology, researcher at the Institute of Language and Literature of the NAS of Belarus.
